FAQ
Common questions about the open source program.
What counts as an open source project?+
Any project publicly available on GitHub with an OSI-approved license (MIT, Apache 2.0, GPL, etc.) and active community development.
Why is there a 1,000 star requirement?+
The star threshold helps us prioritize projects with active communities and real usage. If your project has significant impact but fewer stars, reach out — we evaluate on a case-by-case basis.
How long does the application take to review?+
We review applications within 2–3 business days. You'll receive an email once your application is approved.
Can multiple maintainers from the same project apply?+
Yes. Once a project is approved, all maintainers and contributors can be added at no cost.
What happens if my project changes license?+
The program is for open source projects. If your project moves to a proprietary license, the free access would no longer apply, but you can transition to a paid plan.
